Steps to Study Abroad

You're interested in studying abroad. What do you do?

1. Search all of your choices in the Salisbury University study abroad portal.  You can search by geography, major, and term; 
2. Set up a meeting with a study abroad advisor to learn more about the programs;
3. Meet with your academic advisor to ensure your desired program fits with your major/minor;
4. Apply to your chosen program;
5. Work through the post-acceptance forms and documents in the portal.  Make appointments whenever you need with a study abroad advisor to help you through the process;
6. Attend your orientation meeting(s) to learn key details related to your program;
7. If you choose a faculty-led Global Seminar, you will receive more information and details directly from your faculty leader;
8. If you choose a Salisbury Abroad semester program or a study abroad program through one of our affiliates, work with the Department Chair of your major to get your courses approved;
9. If you choose a Salisbury Abroad semester program or a study abroad program through one of our affiliates, we will introduce you to a Global Ambassador peer advisor to help you answer the many questions that you have;
10. Ask questions throughout the process especially about your student visa if you need one.
